Existing KillContainer handling uses HTTP status code 409 when the request cannot be performed because of the current container state. HTTP status code 404 is also used when the target container does not exist.
In contrast, errors from the stats handler are not reflected in the HTTP status code. The HTTP status code is always 200, and the errors are recorded only as generic errors in the server log.
To maintain compatibility with both streaming enabled and disabled, this change treats obtaining at least one complete unit of response content as the response contract. It then keeps the response content consistent with the HTTP status code.

The Docker client (docker run) sends /wait then /start, but it only
sends /start after receiving the 200 OK response from /wait. Previously,
the event subscription for the "died" event was set up after the 200 was
sent, creating a window where a fast-exiting container (e.g. hello-world)
could emit its "died" event before the subscription was ready, causing
the client to hang forever.
Fix this by subscribing to "died" events before flushing the 200 status
code. This guarantees the event listener is ready before the client can
send /start, eliminating the race entirely.

Require (linux || freebsd), because the code already does that, in practice.
This just means macOS users of IDEs aren't hit with thousands of compilation
errors (and then the IDE can open an Linux-specific file and then process it
under the Linux assumption, which works much better).
This commit ONLY replaces
//go:build !remote
with
//go:build !remote && (linux || freebsd)
and is split from the rest to allow mechanically verifying that fact,
and focusing a review on the other kinds of changes.

New flags in a `podman update` can change the configuration of HealthCheck when the container is started, without having to restart or recreate the container.
This can help determine why a given container suddenly started failing HealthCheck without interfering with the services it provides. For example, reconfigure HealthCheck to keep logs longer than the usual last X results, store logs to other destinations, etc.

The new golangci-lint version 1.60.1 has problems with typecheck when
linting remote files. We have certain pakcages that should never be
inlcuded in remote but the typecheck tries to compile all of them but
this never works and it seems to ignore the exclude files we gave it.
To fix this the proper way is to mark all packages we only use locally
with !remote tags. This is a bit ugly but more correct. I also moved the
DecodeChanges() code around as it is called from the client so the
handles package which should only be remote doesn't really fit anyway.

This is something Docker does, and we did not do until now. Most
difficult/annoying part was the REST API, where I did not really
want to modify the struct being sent, so I made the new restart
policy parameters query parameters instead.
Testing was also a bit annoying, because testing restart policy
always is.

The Docker endpoint here is kind of a nightmare - accepts a full
Resources block, including a large number of scary things like
devices. But it only documents (and seems to use) a small subset
of those. This implements support for that subset. We can always
extend things to implement more later if we have a need.

The attach API used to always return the Content-Type
`vnd.docker.raw-stream`, however docker api v1.42 added the
`vnd.docker.multiplexed-stream` type when no tty was used.
Follow suit and return the same header for docker api v1.42 and libpod
v4.7.0. This technically allows clients to make a small optimization as
they no longer need to inspect the container to see if they get a raw or
multiplexed stream.

This ended up more complicated then expected. Lets start first with the
problem to show why I am doing this:
Currently we simply execute ps(1) in the container. This has some
drawbacks. First, obviously you need to have ps(1) in the container
image. That is no always the case especially in small images. Second,
even if you do it will often be only busybox's ps which supports far
less options.
Now we also have psgo which is used by default but that only supports a
small subset of ps(1) options. Implementing all options there is way to
much work.
Docker on the other hand executes ps(1) directly on the host and tries
to filter pids with `-q` an option which is not supported by busybox's
ps and conflicts with other ps(1) arguments. That means they fall back
to full ps(1) on the host and then filter based on the pid in the
output. This is kinda ugly and fails short because users can modify the
ps output and it may not even include the pid in the output which causes
an error.
So every solution has a different drawback, but what if we can combine
them somehow?! This commit tries exactly that.
We use ps(1) from the host and execute that in the container's pid
namespace.
There are some security concerns that must be addressed:
- mount the executable paths for ps and podman itself readonly to
prevent the container from overwriting it via /proc/self/exe.
- set NO_NEW_PRIVS, SET_DUMPABLE and PDEATHSIG
- close all non std fds to prevent leaking files in that the caller had
open
- unset all environment variables to not leak any into the contianer
Technically this could be a breaking change if somebody does not
have ps on the host and only in the container but I find that very
unlikely, we still have the exec in container fallback.
Because this can be insecure when the contianer has CAP_SYS_PTRACE we
still only use the podman exec version in that case.
This updates the docs accordingly, note that podman pod top never falls
back to executing ps in the container as this makes no sense with
multiple containers so I fixed the docs there as well.

This adds the parameter '--print-stats' to 'podman container restore'.
With '--print-stats' Podman will measure how long Podman itself, the OCI
runtime and CRIU requires to restore a checkpoint and print out these
information. CRIU already creates process restore statistics which are
just read in addition to the added measurements. In contrast to just
printing out the ID of the restored container, Podman will now print
out JSON:
# podman container restore --latest --print-stats
{
"podman_restore_duration": 305871,
"container_statistics": [
{
"Id": "47b02e1d474b5d5fe917825e91ac653efa757c91e5a81a368d771a78f6b5ed20",

"criu_statistics": {
"forking_time": 5,
"restore_time": 67672,
"pages_restored": 14
}
}
]
}
The output contains 'podman_restore_duration' which contains the
number of microseconds Podman required to restore the checkpoint. The
output also includes 'runtime_restore_duration' which is the time
the runtime needed to restore that specific container. Each container
also includes 'criu_statistics' which displays the timing information
collected by CRIU.

podman stats polled by default in a 1 sec period.
This can put quite some load on a machine if you run many containers.
The default value is now 5 seconds.
You can change this interval with a new, optional, --interval, -i cli flag.
The api request got also a interval query parameter for the same purpose.
Additionally a unused const was removed.
Api and cli will fail the request if a 0 or negative value is passed in.

First, make podman diff accept optionally a second argument. This allows
the user to specify a second image/container to compare the first with.
If it is not set the parent layer will be used as before.
Second, podman container diff should only use containers and podman
image diff should only use images. Previously, podman container diff
would use the image when both an image and container with this name
exists.
To make this work two new parameters have been added to the api. If they
are not used the previous behaviour is used. The same applies to the
bindings.

start a goroutine to listen on SIGWINCH in the background and resize
