Fixes#8885.
Adds some optimization and error checking to the loadFile callback in
kmc-kmn. Also handles case of zero-byte bitmap file so we won't crash on
it.
kmcmplib no longer has any filesystem access, so it cannot verify if a
referenced filename in a source file has the same case as the actual
filename on disk (a risk when moving projects between platforms). So
I opted to move this to the `loadFile` callback in kmc, which is the
only place where filesystem is actually accessed, and added
corresponding unit test.
Small additional fixes here:
1. Move from `Buffer` to `Uint8Array` in all kmc-* modules, so that we
remove that barrier to running on web.
2. Use `callbacks.loadFile` instead of `callbacks.fs.readFileSync`, so
that we can be sure to run the filename consistency check.
3. Fixed kps parser silently swallowing xml errors on load.
4. Added silent mode to NodeCompilerCallbacks so we could cleanly test
the new filename consistency hint.
5. Noted a location where we still have NodeJS deps in kmc-ldml.
Fixes#8889.
No code changes, just moves WASM interfaces into
CompilerInterfacesWasm.cpp, and CompileKeyboardHandle is renamed to
CompileKeyboardBuffer and moved into its own source file.
* Moves filesystem access out of kmcmplib into kmc-kmn
* Adds filesystem access callback to kmcmplib unit tests
* Cleans up callback interface through wasm
* Adds unit tests for various file load scenarios
* Removes nodefs dependency from kmcmplib wasm build, and removes
corresponding path mappings which were previously required for wasm
builds; note that these are still present for the unit tests for
kmcmplib.
Relates to #8493.
* Removes kmcmplib calls from kmcmpdll (now that we have kmc)
* Removes old kmcmp_CompileKeyboardFile and
kmcmp_CompileKeyboardFileToBuffer functions in preference for a much
cleaner kmcmp_CompileKeyboard function
* Removes json validation helper from kmcmplib (we'll use js-native
json schema validation instead)
This change means that we no longer need to keep compfile.h consistent
between kmcmplib and kmcmpdll. This will simplify upcoming refactoring
of kmcmplib.
kmcmplib no longer writes files, but it does still read them. The next
refactor will move file load responsibility into the caller.
This moves the remainder of the WASM interfaces in kmcmplib to using
emscripten bind. It is a little bit of a step backwards at present for
parseUnicodeSet, because I've changed the output buffer type to an int
for the purposes of simplifying the binding just now. But that can be
improved later, and at least we are consistent with the binding methods.
Next step is to move the filesystem access out of kmcmplib.
The `SetError` macro emitted `return FALSE;` which was confusing for
reviewing code flow. Replaced with explicit `AddCompileMessage()` and
`return FALSE;`.
FILE_KEYBOARD is a structure used in multiple libraries and languages.
It is passed around between kmcmplib, kmcmpdll, and kmcomp, with three
separate definitions (kmcmplib/compfile.h, kmcmpdll/compfile.h, and
kmcomp/compile.pas). These duplicate definitions must be maintained for
now because of type issues between the legacy kmcmpdll and kmcmplib,
which means that the definitions must be kept in sync.
Because FILE_KEYBOARD_EXTRA has a C++ class in it, it will be
initialized in CompileKeyboardHandle rather than in the caller, so
FILE_KEYBOARD.extra is now a pointer rather than a struct.
When original kmcomp and kmcmpdll are eventually removed, these
duplications will disappear and some of the memory management and
lifecycle will become easier to manage.
This starts the refactor of the .kmn compiler interfaces for WASM,
moving more file writes into typescript and out of the compiler. Adds a
cleaner binding and structures for passing compile metadata back to
typescript for additional build steps (e.g. kvk, js builds).
Will rebase the Typescript-based KMW compiler onto this so it can start
to benefit from the refactoring.
* Fixes a minor issue with loading a .kvks file with an empty flags set.
* Adds a writeFileSync method to the compiler callback interfaces.
* Adds an e2e compiler test to verify that .kmx and .kvk are both
correctly compiled.
Stage one of the kmcmplib filesystem refactoring, as we move to writing
to buffers and allowing caller to write to disk. Moves responsibility
for writing data out of WriteCompiledKeyboard and into
kmcmp_CompileKeyboardFile. This means that there are now no file writes
in Compiler.cpp, except for the temp UTF16fromUTF8 (which I will also
change to a in-memory buffer "real soon now").
Note that responsibility for writing in kmcmp_CompileKeyboardFile is
very much temporary as we'll move it out of the library altogether in
a subsequent commit.
Replaces the existing error reporting in kmc-model with CompilerEvent
style messages. Some of the existing error reporting was kinda nice, but
consistency trumps pretty here.
One downside at present is the global filename and line variables in the
model-compiler-errors.ts unit. This is fragile, and should probably be
refactored further in the future.
Where it made sense, I converted various throws into ModelCompilerError
instances. If it appeared to be an internal error, I left it as-is, but
the external API interfaces wrap all unknown exceptions and convert them
into a compiler error message, so these APIs (compileModel and
loadFromFilename) now have a guarantee that they will never throw.
At this point, all of the error messages in the model compiler are
unrecoverable -- they will halt the compile entirely. However, the
pathway is there to support recoverable errors through the normal
callbacks.reportMessage mechanisms.
The message-counting mechanism is currently missing from this, as it
belongs in the API consumer, rather than in the low-level reporting
infrastructure. This means that models with large numbers of warnings
are going to generate scads of messages for now.
Note that the _users_ of CompilerCallbacks are subject to change in the
future, once we have all the compilers using the callbacks.
Consolidates the two copies of comperr.h (they were identical) and
moves to a common folder. Updates all references to comperr.h, except
for one github commit ref.
If kmcmplib build includes the --full-test flag, then configure and run
tests that include pulling in the keyboards repo; otherwise skip all of
that.
This will require CI changes to run full tests, relating to #8361.
Fixes#8615.
The msgproc was never being located as we were missing the UTF8ToString
wrapper for the context.
This also ensures error message codes are emitted in hexadecimal, and
that the return value from the msgproc callback is 1, meaning 'continue
build'.
* Splits compiler interface functions that return bool into
CompilerInterfaces.cpp, and moves `SetError` define to that unit so
it can't be used accidentally elsewhere
* Audit of `AddWarning` calls and only those that are used in bool
functions now `return FALSE` (with new `AddWarningBool`) whereas all
others `return CERR_Break`
Decided to use the name `baseline` for this set of tests. They can be
used by any project in the repo now. Tests will be treated as shared,
and not modified (except in the case of a buggy test).
* Moves .kmn files, add `&NAME` line (don't use meson templating for
these files)
* Generates reference .kmx files using kmcomp for use as a baseline with
kmcmplib (kmc) tests, and for linux tests
* Updates references in core, kmcmplib, and linux builds
* Renames all the .kmn / .kmx to use a standardized, clean name format
(this was needed for building packages in the core tests)
During the configure phase for kmcmplib, we'll now always make a clone
of the keyboards repo so that we can checkout the specific commit we
want without making a mess of the user's environment. This is a little
slower (about 30 seconds to do a full local clone, a couple of minutes
for a remote clone) but a whole lot safer.
This only needs to be done in the `configure` action.
This also simplifies our scripts because we no longer need to pass any
option into meson for the keyboards repo, as we'll always know it is in
tests/keyboards.
